happy new year! here's a mash-up of some thoughts:
- i've been goal setting and recounting last year: 2012 brought a trip to disneyland, watercolor, blonde hair, a promotion (really this was in 2011, but i didn't really gain the effects till 2012), a new found love for all things italian, temple service, good health, the glitter pits, a visit to texas, a chocolate souffle, a classic novel, learning to love fish, rock climbing, a juice cleanse. hoping 2013 will bring my sister back, cultivating current relationships and building new ones, frequent visits to planet fitness (especially since i just opened my january things to do from paige and it said "begin training for a marathon"? who is she kidding?), hope, a trip to a non-american land, etc, etc, etc.
- if you're not into the whole resolution thing, you might try the whole declaration of intention thing.
- and one more about resolutions, movie style.
- been enjoying the new york time's touch of evil series all day, and trying to figure out who each one is ...
- i'm contemplating getting a subscription to the new yorker. i feel this makes me a true and mature adult.
- jerry seinfeld is the comedian of my heart. two things for you if you agree: 1) modern seinfeld on twitter and 2) jerry himself explaining the art of joke construction.
- for some reason or another i wandered over to paige's blog. if you miss paige, take a gander. sometimes i forget how funny this girl is. (can't wait for the reversal of this! 326 days!)
- i found this quote yesterday and i think it might be my new motto: "imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring." from the mouth of the one and only marilyn monroe.
- has anyone ever tried a beauty balm cream? i've been thinking about them.
- i watched some of walk the line the other night and have had emmylou stuck in my head ever since.
- is it just me or is this weekend a little depressing dubbed as the first non-holiday weekend in a really long time? whoa now this is ending on a depressing note.
hey, happy weekend!

I'd never heard that Marilyn quote before and I love it! I also loved that touch of evil video series, but I think I'm really awful at the guessing part. You need to help me! haha
Courtney! We will train for a marathon together. How fun would that be? Paige is inspired. Plus, isn't "do something you don't think you could possibly do" on one of your goal lists? Let's talk.
ann! funny you say this because LITERALLY i was going to ask you if you wanted to train with me (not just figuratively ask you). and YES! thanks for reminding me that number four on my 25 things list is "participate in some sort of competitive race > 5k" PERFFF!
